CMM Integrators

Leveraging interoperability standards such as Dimensional Markup Language(DML) and I++ DME make way for CMM Integrators like Validation Technologies Inc and HHI Software Solutions to integrate CMM's within companies business processes.

InspectIt leverages the I++ standard to watch communications between DME Client (eMInspector) and the DME Server. If an error occurs InspectIt will gracefully handle the error and provide the user with a clear and concise message as to what is wrong and how to recover if user interaction is required for example if the air pressure for the CMM has fallen below the required pressure. Further this error handling capability is extensible like most of the capabilities within the Inspection Toolkit Suite allowing the Integrator the flexibility to not only handle the errors, but also inject commands as required to recover the DME Server as needed. For Shopfloor environments this flexibility is not only nice, but required to react to issues that may arise as the DME I++ Specifications matures into a standard.

I++ DME

I++ / DME is a great specification answering the need for interoperability of running an inspection program on any CMM. I++ is a generic TCPIP interface enabling any front-end software application to communicate and run inspection programs on any CMM that supports the protocol. Several of the big CMM vendors and Renishaw themselves are leveraging this interface. It is our opinion that this is the best idea and it puts the hardware optimization and accuracy in the hands of the CMM vendor where it belongs, yet allows software development companies do what they do best to deliver the best complete solution for the customer.
